Kōmeitō
The New Komeito Party (NKP or just "Kōmeitō" in Japanese) is a Japanese center to center-left political party, was formed in 1998 through the merger of the Kōmeitō party and the New Peace Party. Kōmeitō's constituency consists almost entirely of members of the religious organization Sōka Gakkai. Sōka Gakkai's flag is a tricolor with blue, yellow, and red; thus, when Matoi sees these colors in the name "Kōmeitō", she is highlighting that the party appears to allow Soka Gakkai to circumvent Japan's constitutional separation of religion and state.
